Skin Boosters

Skin boosters improve the quality of the skin itself rather than adding volume. Patients notice better hydration, a smoother texture and more elasticity, usually after a course of two or three sessions a few weeks apart.

Korea leads the world in this category. Polynucleotide (PN) and PDRN boosters, first made famous by Rejuran, help skin repair itself. Hyaluronic acid boosters draw water into the skin for a fresher look. Exosome products are the newest group and are popular after laser and microneedling.

What is the difference between PN and PDRN?

Both are made from purified DNA fragments. PN uses longer chains and stays in the skin longer, so it also gives some structural support. PDRN uses shorter fragments and is mainly used for repair and calming.

How many sessions do patients need?

Most protocols use 3 sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart, followed by a top-up every 6 months.

Can skin boosters be combined with fillers?

Yes. Many clinics use a booster to improve skin quality and a filler to restore volume in the same treatment plan.
