Biostimulators

Biostimulators work differently from hyaluronic acid fillers. Instead of filling a line straight away, they prompt the skin to make new collagen over the following weeks, so results build up gradually and look natural.

Korean biostimulators are mostly based on PDLLA, PCL or calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). PDLLA products such as Juvelook and Lenisna are popular for skin texture and mild volume. PCL products such as Gouri give a longer-lasting effect. CaHA fillers offer immediate lift plus collagen stimulation.

These products need careful reconstitution and technique, so they are sold to trained practitioners only.

When do patients see results?

Some improvement shows after a few weeks, with the full effect at around 2 to 3 months as new collagen forms.

How long do results last?

Usually 1 to 2 years, depending on the product and the number of sessions.

Are biostimulators reversible?

No. Unlike HA fillers they cannot be dissolved, which is why careful patient selection and technique matter.
